Barkha, Noorani, Jayachandran to be conferred CH award

Kozhikode, Oct 31 : NDTV Group Editor Barkha Dutt, noted columnist A G Noorani and distinguished journalist S Jayachandran Nair will be honoured with the prestigious C H Mohammed Koya Memorial National Journalism Awards here on November 3.

Defence Minister A K Antony will present the awards, comprising of a purse of Rs 1,11,111 to Ms Barkha and Mr Noorani and Rs 50,555 to Mr Nair and a statuette, instituted in memory of former Kerala Chief Minister and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader C H Mohammed Koya, C H Trust Convener M K Muneer told reporters today.

Minister of State for Railways E Ahamed, Kerala Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran, Senior Congress leader M K Raghavan, MP, IUML leader Abdul Wahab, MP, IUML State General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty, Kozhikode Mayor M Bhaskaran, media expert Sebastian Paul, former Kerala Minister M K Muneer, among others, would speak at the function, he said.

CNN-IBN Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Saresai, New Indian Express editorial advisor T J S George and eminent columnist Praful Bidwai were the earlier winners of the award.
