Three Maoists arrested in combing operation in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Oct 30 : Three Maoists were arrested from Gudari area in Rayagada district today during an intensive combing operation jointly launched by the CRPF, Special Operation Group and Orissa Police.
Rayagada Superintendent of Police AK Singh said a special team was constituted to keep a track on the movement of the three Maoists and finally the police nabbed them during the combing operation.
The left wing ultras were identified as Sadananda Hikabadi from Birapanka village, Purnachandra Sambhutika from Nachuni village and Anand Praska from Madhukapuda village.
Mr Singh said the trio had set afire the Dangaguruda police outpost and was involved in the Gopilima murder case, besides other criminal cases in Gudari area.
The trio, he said, was engaged to strengthen the Maoist base in the area and were recruiting local tribals into the Maoist fold.
The SP said the arrested ultras would be forwarded to the Gunupur court later in the day and the police would move the court to bring them under police remand for further interrogation.
At least 10 Maoists, including hardcore rebel Udaya, involved in several crimes, had been arrested by the police in Rayagada district during the past one year.
