Special guests at president's birthday party
President Pranab Mukherjee will be joined by some very special guests Tuesday when he celebrates his 77th birthday.
"A group of differently-abled children will join him in the Rashtrapati Bhavan for celebrating his birthday. The celebrations will include songs, dances, brail reading and singing of the National Anthem in sign language by the children," a press release from Rashtrapati Bhavan said Monday.
Mukherjee was born Dec 11, 1935 to a Bengali Brahmin family at Mirati village in Birbhum district in the Bengal province of British India (now in West Bengal).
After a long and illustrious political career in which he served in various capacities, Mukherjee became the 13th president of India July 25.
