Patna, Dec 1 : A local court today rejected the anticipatory bail petition of the Manager of Exhibition road branch of Punjab National Bank in connection with a case relating to misappropriation of Rs eight crores.
District and sessions judge Mandhata Singh rejected the bail petition of the manager Ashish Sinha after hearing his argument and that of the prosecution.
According to the charges, HDFC had deposited Rs 4.70 crore in current account of the exhibition road branch of Punjab National Bank on September 19 and again deposited Rs 4.90 crore on October 21 this year.
But on verification, it was detected that the Bank had maintained only Rs 1.70 crore in the current, while there was no trace of the rest of the amount.
