Dengue cases exceed 500; high-level meet on Monday
New Delhi, Nov 7 : With the number of dengue cases in the capital exceeding 500 today, the Delhi government called a high-level meeting on Monday besides replacing the Nodal Officer for the disease.
Twenty nine confirmed dengue cases were reported in the last 24 hours in the capital taking the total figure to 527 so far.
On the other hand, Monday's high-level meeting on dengue will be convened by Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia and attended by representatives of major hospitals besides senior officers of Health Department and Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
The meeting will review the measures taken to control dengue and take a positive decision to check the menace in the capital.
The government also replaced Dr Charan Singh merely one day after appointing him as the Nodal Officer for dengue as he had reportedly given a wrong figure of dengue cases causing a lot of confusion in the minds of people. Now Dr Debashish Bhattacharya will be the State Nodal Officer, Prof Walia said.
Dr Bhattacharya will monitor and check the spread of dengue fever in Delhi by making special arrangements to curb the menace.
