PIC campaign on Centre's development programmes starts Nov 10
Kozhikode, Nov 7 : A Public Information Campaign(PIC), highlighting various flagship development programmes of the Central Government, would begin here on November 10.
Talking to newspersons here today, PIB Cochin Dy Director A M Thomas said, titled as 'Bharat Nirman' the PIC was focusing on National Rural Employment Guarantee Act(NREGA), National Rural Health Mission(NRHM) and National Highway Development Programme (NHDP), among others, organised by the PIB, to be inaugurated by the Minister of State for Home, Mullappally Ramachandran.
The programme organised with support and cooperation of Kozhikode District administration and Public Sector Undertakings(PSU), among others, would include a colourful exhibition, showcasing progress of various developmental programmes and welfare schemes of the Centre with special reference to Kozhikode, he said.
Mr Thomas said about 40 Central and State Government departments and agencies, including Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity(DAVP), Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and Thiruvanthapuram, Coconut Development Board(TCDB) were among others, who are expected to participate in the exhibition to be held at Royal Alliance auditorium at Kadalundy Road Feroxe in the district, he added.
The official said a free medical camp organised by the State Health Department would be arranged during the campaign on November 11.
Seminar on various topics and cultural programmes would also be held, he said, adding Minister of State for Railways, E Ahamed would be the Chief Guest during the valedictory function on November 14.
