Furious Range Slams Sugababe Reunion Rumours
SUGABABES star HEIDI RANGE is fuming over a string of rumours the original bandmembers will reunite to form a rival group - branding the stories 'unfair'.
The Push The Button hitmakers were formed in 1998 by Siobhan Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan.
Range was brought in to replace Donaghy in 2001, while Amelle Berrabah took over from Buena when she walked out on the group in 2005. The final original member, Buchanan, was booted out in September (09) and replaced by Eurovision star Jade Ewen.
The band was subsequently dogged by rumours the original line-up would reunite to take them on in the charts, but the stories have since been dismissed.
And Range is still angry about the speculation - insisting the band has enjoyed more success since the original line-up changed.
She says, 'I don't want to sound like I'm being big-headed but the Sugababes had one album which didn't sell and they were dropped.
'I joined eight years ago and we were signed together by Island Records. I've been there since our first number one Freak Like Me and been part of the history of the band ever since.
'Amelle has been in the group for over four years and she's been part of our biggest album as a group. I think it's unfair.
'We were signed as Sugababes to Island Records and I'm still signed to Island Records as Sugababes.'
