Lindsay Lohan's Dad Takes Desperate Phone Messages To Tv News Show
LINDSAY LOHAN's father has taken desperate phone messages from his actress daughter to a U.S. TV news show.
Michael Lohan told Access Hollywood reporter Billy Bush he has attempted to help his daughter beat an alleged prescription drug problem and now he has to go public with frantic phone messages he has received from his daughter to prove he isn't making up the drama and Lindsay really does need counselling.
The news show refused to play the recorded messages on air on Wednesday night (04Nov09), but Bush revealed he had listened to them - and it was clear Lindsay was troubled.
The calls included one which featured Lindsay crying hysterically after her Hollywood home was burgled this summer (09) and another the actress made from rehab in Utah in 2008, pleading with her father to get her out of counselling. During his interview with Bush, Lohan insisted he leave the room while the interviewer played the message on his phone.
The concerned father insists he's going public with the phone messages because he's desperate to get his daughter back into rehab.
He said, "I've been doing what I'm doing against everyone's will and getting slammed for it, but you hear here what's going on... You can see why I'm so concerned, I'm literally shaking right now and I can't do it anymore.
"First, I tried to do it the right way... privately. I tried to deal with Lindsay."
Lindsay's attorney is now considering legal action against the actress' father - for leaking the messages.
Meanwhile, on Thursday (05Nov09), Lohan released another recorded audio conversation with his ex-wife Dina, during which Dina sobs about not being able to get her troubled daughter into rehab in September of 2008.
In the tape, obtained by RadarOnline.com, Dina tells her ex, "You don't even know what I'd go through trying to get her into, like, rehab and stuff. She'd, like, punch me in the face, kick me out of the car... You don't know the s**t I went through trying to get her an intervention by myself. It was very difficult.
"She's really sad and really hurt and really... despondent."
Michael Lohan tells the website, "I admit, I'm being a bit selfish in releasing the tapes, but I'm tired of being lied about. I'm tired of Dina and others making me out to be someone I'm not, so now I'm going to prove to the world who the real liars are."
