Debt-ridden doctor arrested for lodging fake 'missing' complaint
Noida, Nov 5 : A doctor, who allegedly had a false missing complaint filed in Delhi and then secretly hid at his in-laws' place in Noida to avoid calls for repayment from people he was heavily in debt to, was arrested Thursday, police said.
According to police, Deepak Bhardwaj, a resident of Vivek Vihar in Delhi, got a false complaint lodged about him missing through an accomplice at Vivek Vihar police station Sep 4.
He then went into hiding, reportedly staying at his in-laws' place in Sector-37 in Noida, along with his wife Shalini.
On Thursday, the couple had some argument following which Shalini called up police and complained about him.
Police reached the place and arrested Bhardwaj. Delhi Police was informed and a team came and took Bhardwaj along with them.
"The Delhi Police is investigating the matter. The case is now with them entirely. We have nothing further to do with it," an official at the Sector-39 police station here said.
