Honestly, as a football fan, I wish FIFA would rotate the World Cup more fairly. North America gets it again while Africa waits? India hosted the U-17 World Cup and did a great job, but we're never considered for the big event. The opening ceremony was flashy, but the politics behind it leave a sour taste.
Absolutly incredible to see Azteca hosting again! Pelé and Maradona's ghosts must be smiling. But lowkey, why is South Africa playing instead of a team like India? We have 1.4 billion people and a growing football scene. This ceremony makes me proud to be a football fan, but also feel the missed opportunity for our country.
