New game show 'Deal or No Deal' from Nov 7
Hyderabad, Nov 5 : 'Deal or No Deal, the biggest game show in South Indian Television history and one of the most successful shows ever on television globally, will have its premier on Gemini TV on November 7.
It would be telecast over 26 episodes between 1900 hrs and 2000 hrs on Saturdays and Sundays. Each contestant could win upto Rs 50 lakh in cash.
A unique mix of world class sets, a simple format that is easy to understand, edge of the seat entertainment and an engaging host will come together to make the show a fabulous television viewing experience. For the first time, as part of this show, a viewer contest will also be held where viewers could win total prize money of Rs one lakh per episode.
Contestants for the game show have been chosen from the responses to the Call for Entry activity that ran on the Channel a few weeks ago. The game involves 26 suitcases, each containing an unknown amount between Re one and Rs 50 lakh.
To begin with, the contestant has to choose any one of the 26 suitcases, not knowing the value inside it. From then on, the contestant would be trying to walk away from the game with the maximum amount of money through a process of opening the other 25 boxes and deciding to deal or not to deal with a mysterious banker who offers to buy the contestant's suitcase offering varying amounts of money at different stages throughout the game.
An additional box would be kept for the new gameshow in Telugu, with the viewers also allowed to participate via SMS along with participants in the studio.
The show will be hosted by popular actor Sai Kumar. ''I am delighted to be part of the show. It's an exciting game show and has all the elements that a wholesome family entertainer should have'', he added.
''The show in Telugu would be completely original. The best part of the game would be that anyone can win up to Rs 50 lakh. There is no need to answer any complex questions to win money. All it takes is guts and common sense. And I am delighted to be able to give away lots of money on this show, earning the blessings of all the winners.
And the Sai Kumar on the show will be the real Sai Kumar, not the Reel Sai Kumar'', he said.
