Govt to focus on road connectivity, education in rural Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Nov 4 : Road connectivity and spreading education in remote areas would have a focussed attention of the government in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Shyam Lal Sharma said.

Addressing a public rally in bordering Akhnoor sector last afternoon, the Minister said road connectivity and education are the key ingredients for development of a state and so, the government was accordingly focussing attention on these two sectors.

''Efforts are being made to connect all villages with 'pucca' road links to develop rural areas at par with the urban areas,'' he stated.

During the last 4-5 years, bordering belts have witnessed massive development in almost all sectors, Mr Lal noted, and assured that the ignored pockets of the area will also be given due attention.

He sought people's cooperation in implementing various state and centrally-sponsored schemes so that their benefits percolate to the targeted group.
