Get-well-soon messages pour in; Modi shows signs of improvement
Ahmedabad, Oct 31 : Get-well-soon messages poured in from across the world, even as Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, diagnosed with swine flu, was recovering, doctors said today.
''There was constant improvement in Mr Modi's health. All indications showed that his health is recovering,'' a bulletin issued by a team of five doctors of Apollo Hospital, where the Chief Minister underwent medical check-up last evening, said.
They said Mr Modi had a sound sleep last night. His fever was also decling the doctors said.
Governor S C Jamir, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Ministers, BJP leaders, leader of the Opposition in the state assembly Shaktisinh Gohil, besides industrialists, spiritual leaders and people from all walks of life have been conveying hearty best wishes for BJP leader's speedy recovery.
The Chief Minister, quarantined at his official residence, was apprised of the of get-well-soon wishes pouring in, sources said.
They said administrators of advanced and super speciality hospitals have also shown their readiness to provide their assisstance in the Chief Minister's treatment, sources said.
Mr Modi, who returned back on Wednesday night after a three-day visit to Moscow, tested positive for H1N1 flu late Thursday night and his illness was officially announced yesterday. His engagements for about a week had been cancelled.
All Cabinet ministers and senior bureaucrats, who came in close contact with Mr Modi in the last few days, have been administered medication as a precautionary measure, the sources added.
At least 40 people died and 279 were affected by swine flu recently in Gujarat.
