136 management students of HPU placed in 2 years

Shimla, Jul 31 : Institute of Management Studies (IMS) at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla was offered 136 jobs for the 2008-2010 batch.

Interacting with mediapersons yesterday at HPU campus in Summerhill, Co-ordinator and placement Dr Sayam Lal Kaushal said the Institute was approached by hundreds of companies for recruitment drive and prominent ones like Global Agree Systems, HCL, Ranbaxy, Infosys, Bajaj Allianz, SBI Life, SEL Textiles, Lupin Ltd, Himcon, Vodafone, Bharti Axa Life, Excel Marketing, Axis Bank, J P Associates, Asian Paints, Dabur and Connoisseur Infotech offered students package up to Rs 4.2 lakh per annum.

Recently, about 20 companies responded for the recruitment at the Campus out of which IDBI offered the highest package of Rs 4.20 lakh per annum. Dr Kaushal said some of the students got offers from two companies and the process of their selection was on.

Prof Suresh Kumar, Director of IMS said efforts were on to recruit more students at a handsome package for their birght future and with the Chemical and Medicine Industries coming up in the State, demand for products of IMS would come up. He said the Institute would try its best and work out its strategy with demand of the market and need of the hour supply.
