'No flight risk' Pistorius' lawyers appeal against bail condition on leaving South Africa
London, Mar 12 : Lawyers of Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius have said t he should have the option of travelling outside South Africa, which was a bail restriction imposed on him after he was charged with the murder of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Appealing against the bail restrictions, Pistorius' lawyers have claimed that the double amputee sprinter is not a flight risk and should have the option of travelling outside South Africa as long as he has official permission, Sky News reports.
The appeal against Pistorius' bail conditions was filed on Friday and a copy of the papers was sent by representatives of the Pistorius family to news agencies on Monday.
Meanwhile, Pistorius' family has denied claims by a close friend of the Paralympian that he is on the verge of suicide and has released a statement which said the athlete 'is in deep mourning but despite the tragic circumstances he is certainly not suicidal', the report added.
