BJP to hold protest march against Shinde
New Delhi, Feb 20 : Stepping up pressure on Sushilkumar Shinde over his Hindu terror remarks, India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a protest march against the Union Home Minister in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The BJP leaders will march from Jantar Mantar to Shinde's residence in the national capital, reports said.
BJP president Rajnath Singh will lead the march to the Union Home Minister's residence.
The BJP on Tuesday said it will corner Shinde during the upcoming Budget Session of the Parliament till the Union Home Minister tenders an apology for his Hindu terror remarks.
India's main opposition party took the decision during a meeting of top BJP leaders at party patriarch LK Advani's residence on the same day.
Speaking to reporters, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said: "The Parliamentary Party Executive Committee of the BJP met to discuss its strategy for the upcoming Budget Session. The final shape to the plans will be given after NDA floor leaders meet on Wednesday."
"The BJP has taken a serious view of his (Shinde) remarks. He should apologise," he said.
The Budget Session of the Parliament starts on Thursday.
Shinde had sparked a major row on Jan 22 when he said BJP and its ideological patron Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) promote Hindu terrorism in India in their training camps, inviting some angry reactions from the parties he blamed.
"On one hand we are trying to restore peace in India and looking into injustices on minority or stopping infiltration while on the other hand the training camps of BJP or RSS are looking after promotion of Hindu terrorism in their camps," Shinde had said, speaking at the Congress Chintan Shivir (Brainstorming Conclave) in Jaipur.
Later when pressed for clarification, he told media that what he said is nothing new but had come out in media many times.
