Shinde leaves on two day visit to Bangladesh, extradition treaty on agenda
Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde will leave on a two-day visit to Bangladesh today on the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr. Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir.
He will hold talks with Alamgir after which the two sides are expected to sign an extradition treaty and a revised travel agreement.
During this visit, India and Bangladesh are expected to sign an extradition treaty and a revised travel agreement following bilateral discussions between the two Home Ministers.
The visit is also likely to focus on co-operation between the two countries in the areas of security, border management, border infrastructure and people-to-people exchanges.
Shinde is expected to hold discussions with Alamgir, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and also call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka.
