A Goa court on Wednesday took cognizance of the petition filed on Tuesday by Tehelka Editor-in-Chief and sexual assault accused Tarun Tejpal and decided to hand over to him CCTV footage of the alleged sexual assault, reports said.

The Goa police had submitted the footage, along with the chargesheet, to the court on Monday.

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday postponed hearing of Tejpal's bail plea till Mar 4.

The crime branch of the Goa Police on Monday submitted its chargesheet where it formally charged former Tehelka Editor-in-Chief Tarun Tejpal with raping his colleague.

The former Tehelka Editor-in-Chief, who was arrested by the Goa Police on Nov 30, has been charged with sexual harassment and other sections of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013.

The chargesheet, which runs into 2,846 pages, was submitted before the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) here.

Tejpal on Tuesday told CNN-IBN that the case against him is a "political vendetta".

Tejpal allegedly sexually assaulted a woman journalist of his organization in an elevator of Grand Hyatt Goa during the Think festival of Tehelka where ironically the participants were debating on issues like rape.

The action of Tejpal is considered as rape under the new definition of the anti-rape law in India.
