Eric Bana to play 'The King' in new Elvis and Nixon biopic

Melbourne, Oct 25 : Eric Bana is set to play legendary Rock and Roll star Elvis Presley in the new biographical film, 'Elvis and Nixon'.

Bana, 43, who is also the executive producer for the movie, will team up with first-time director Cary Elwes.

Danny Huston, is reported to play President Richard Nixon in the flick, which delves on Presley's visit to the White House with the then US President in 1970.

The King of Rock and Roll had written a six-page letter to Nixon requesting a meeting and suggesting he be made a "Federal Agent-at-Large" in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, and gifted the President a Colt 45 pistol, the Courier Mail reported.

"Dear Mr. President, I would like to introduce myself. I am Elvis Presley and admire you and have great respect for your office. I talked to Vice President Agnew in Palm Springs and expressed my concern for our country. I can and will be of any service to help The Country," the letter read. (ANI -Posted on / )
