Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 23: Kerala Higher Education Minister R. Bindu, on Tuesday, made it clear that the state government has no intention of continuing a confrontation with the Governor Rajendra V. Arlekar, who is also the Chancellor of the universities in the state, signaling a visible softening of stance following a broad understanding reached on Vice-Chancellor's appointments.

Kerala Governor instructs VCs to observe 150 anniversary of Vande Mataram

Thiruvananthapuram, December 2: The Governor of Kerala, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, convened a meeting of all Vice Chancellors of the Universities of the State and gave instructions to observe the 150th anniversary of the National song, Vande Mataram, in a "befitting manner" by organising competitions, cultural events and other activities, a release said.

Delhi University issues anti-defacement guidelines ahead of student polls; candidates to give Rs 1 Lakh bond

New Delhi, August 8: In an effort to combat defacement of college property during election campaigning, Delhi University on Friday issued a set of 'anti defacement' guidelines ahead of the DUSU elections, calling for each college and department of the university to organise orientation and sensitisation programs for the students for "maintaining the sanctity of the college walls and public property."
