Shimla, Aug 8 : Four people, all employees of a company, were rescued Friday after they were caught midway while crossing a swollen rivulet in Himachal Pradesh.
Four employees of LG Electronics were stuck in the Rata rivulet at Jahrmajri village in Solan district, additional superintendent of police Saju Ram Rana told IANS.
They were working at the company's manufacturing unit at Baddi, 110 kms from here.
Rana said they were rescued by police and fire brigade personnel. The rivulet was flowing above the danger mark due to heavy rain in Baddi area.
Moderate to heavy rain lashed many parts of the hill state.
All major rivers like the Beas, the Sutlej and the Ravi and their tributaries were in spate.
Heavy rains triggered landslides in Barog area, where four houses collapsed. However, no loss of life was reported.
The landslides have disrupted the movement of traffic on the Chandigarh-Shimla national highway.
Nagrota Surian in Kangra district with 40 mm rain was the wettest place in the state.
Shimla and upper areas of the district also received rainfall forcing tourists to stay indoors.
