Vijay Vedala, New Delhi: After working in string of small roles on the silver screen, model turned actor Sudhanshu Pandey hopes to 'mark a new phase' in Bollywood with his upcoming film 'Singh is Kinng'.
"The true phase of my career will begin with 'Singh is Kinng', Sudhanshu told PTI. "I have always wanted to work with big banners and big directors and this movie has given me the opportunity to work with the likes of Anees Bazmee and Vipul Shah," he says.
Sudhanshu plays the character of Raftaar, a member of a dreaded underworld gang based in Australia. Talking about his role, Sudhanshu says, " Raftaar is a character who has presence throughout the movie. He is the Michael Schumacher of Akshay Kumar's gang who gets angry at the same speed at which he drives his car." The movie deals with the comic adventures of Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar), after he takes over as the King of an Australia based underworld gang.
Talking about his experience with actor Akshay Kumar, Sudhanshu, who had earlier worked with him in 'Khiladi 420' says that he has been smitten by the work ethics of the popular actor.
"Akshay is an ideal role model for any beginner. He's such a professional guy. His focus on work is quite unbelievable."
Apart from 'Singh is Kinng', Sudhanshu will be seen alongside Shilpa Shetty in Sunny Deol's 'The Spy', Sanjay Gupta's 'Alibaug' and a couple of other movies he has recently signed. Incidentally, Pandey has also signed a three film deal with Gupta. "The three movie deal with Sanjay starts from Alibaug and talks are on for an action movie to be directed by him (Gupta)," Pandey informs about the deal.
The actor who was last seen in White Feather Film's 'Dus Kahaniyaan' relishes working with Sanjay Gupta. " He makes me do things I cannot even think of. He made me sing first in 'Dus Kahaniyaan' and now he has asked me to sing around 3-4 songs for 'Alibaug'." The former 'Band of Boys' member however is quick to clear the air as far as singing is considered. "I have strictly decided not to sing for anyone else apart from myself whatever be the case," he says.
