160by2.com enables free International SMS

Kolkata, July 27 : 160by2.com, one of India's largest free SMS service providers for the first time in the country enables its consumers send free SMS to and from the Middle-East with the launch of its revolutionary service to UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The first of its kind service is open to all internet users in India and enables free SMS connectivity to mobiles in these countries and vice versa. 160by2 users from the Middle East can also send messages to India and between those countries.

This service comes as one of the most interesting and useful development in internet/communication domain for people who wish to keep in touch with their closed ones in Middle East, but high cost prevented them from doing so earlier, said a company release.

In a simple process, a consumer can login to www.160by2.com, register themselves free of cost and start using the service to send free SMS. Earlier, users could only send messages in India but now the technology enables them to do the same with mobile users in the Middle-East.

'One has to enter the mobile number and the country code with which he/she intends to communicate and then type in an 80 characters message and send it to the designated mobile. The remaining 80 characters space in the message will be used by 160by2 to feed in an advertisement,' said the release.

Ranked among the top 100 most visited sites in India (source: Alexa), and among the top 10 most visited WAP sites in India (source: Opera), 160by2 also provides bulk messaging platform enabling business and promotional users to connect with their associates and target customers in a cost effective manner.

Satyakalyan Yerramsetti, CEO-SMSCountry said, 'Free internet to phone messaging service particularly to foreign countries is expected to gain huge popularity in the country and we at 160by2 have the first mover advantage in the area by this launch. We see a huge demand for this service from users especially from States like Kerala, Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, etc… which are important markets for us. This model will revolutionize the market space by effectively removing the biggest hurdle in communication – high costs.'

The company intends to extend this service shortly to rest of the Middle-East and MENA nations including Bahrain, Yemen, Qatar and Oman. With a large number of Indian expats residing in these nations, 160by2.com will be the perfect platform for their near and dear ones in India to stay connected.
