Now a Mithun Chakraborty festival on Zee
Mumbai, April 29: In a unique collaboration of network channels, Zee Cinema and Zee TV's dance reality show Lux Dance India Dance have announced a special month-long festival dedicated to the original disco dancer of the country, Mithun Chakraborty.
The festival – ‘Mohe Mithunda Se Milawade’ - will run on Zee Cinema throughout May and showcase Mithunda’s movies.
In this cross-channel promotion, the two channels will celebrate Mitunda’s journey from being the Disco Dancer to ‘Grandmaster Mithunda’, as he is known on the sets of ‘Lux Dance India Dance’.
A contest would be run during the telecast of the movies wherein viewers would have to answer questions based on Mithunda. Three lucky winners with maximum correct SMS will get an opportunity to witness the Grand Finale of ‘Lux Dance India Dance’ and also meet the grandmaster personally.
Mohan Gopinath, Business Head, Zee Cinema, said, “While ‘Lux Dance India Dance’ is one of the top ten shows on GECs, Zee Cinema as a leader constantly tries to innovate. We wanted to take this opportunity to bring Mithunda’s fans closer to him by providing them a platform. Also, given the soaring popularity of the show, it would be an added benefit for the winner to witness the grand finale.”
To be launched on May 2, ‘Mohe Mithunda Se Milwade’ will showcase Mithunda’s legendary movies like The Don, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Aadmi and Phool Aur Angaar on every Saturday at 4.pm.
