Jail came at the right time: Arya Babbar
Mumbai, Nov 11 : If there is one person you took a really good look at in Madhur Bhandarkar' s ' Jail' , it is Arya Babbar, who has grabbed a tremendous amount of interest after the release of the movie.
Though success and recognition has come to him after a long wait of seven years, Arya has no regrets.' It makes me respect my profession even more. I have worked hard on improving my acting and that is how I was able to get the role in Jail.'
He has no fears about the role' s length or that it is a negative role.' I want to act well. Let it be any kind of a role.'
Arya Babbar comes from a family of actors. His father is the famous veteran actor Raj Babbar, and mother Nadira and sister Juhi are actors too.
He made his debut seven years ago opposite Amrita Rao in a forgettable movie ' Ab Ke Baras.' He acted in Mudda in 2003 and finally in his first recognizable role in ' Guru' as Aishwarya Rai' s brother. He was recently seen in a small role with Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra in ' Chamku and in a Punjabi movie Virsa, about a girl in search of her father.
Having learnt acting from the New York Academy, Arya has been into theatre for the last fifteen years and is a part of a Hindi theatre group called' Ekjut' for whom he will be performing in the annual festival of National School of Drama in January next year.
Arya takes keen interest in journalism and is handling his own production house too from where he will be launching a new serial for which he has done editing himself. Though his father has been in politics and Arya has campaigned for him, he cannot see himself in politics, at least not at this age.
A star kid usually has an edge over other new entrants but Arya feels that it' s an added responsibility as the expectations are high from a known surname attached to your name.
A name that he does like coming together with his name is Prateek his younger brother and Smita Patil' s son. ' He is the best person in my life ' says Arya Babbar proudly.
