Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Union Territory

Puducherry, Nov 5 : Heavy rain continued to lash Puducherry and its suburbs under the influence of low pressure in the Bay, disrupting normal life in the Union Territory.

Several low-lying areas were inundated in the rain water and Municipal and local administration authorities were taking steps to pump out the water and provide relief measures to the affected people.

Puducherry received seven cm rainfall for 24 hours ending at 0830 hrs today.

Meanwhile, the schools in Puducherry ramained closed today in view of the incessant rainfall.
