PCB allows Misbah to play in Bangladesh
Lahore, Nov 4 : After showing initial reluctance, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed former vice-captain Misbah-ul-Haq to skip the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament and play in the premier league tournament of Bangladesh.
The PCB has been given permission Misbah to take a two-week break from Pakistan's first class domestic competition to play in Bangladesh.
Misbah, who has been dropped from the national ODI and Test sides, had received a offer from Abhani Sports club to play five to six ODI matches in the premier league tournament of Bangladesh.
''I will leave around November 8 for Dhaka and it should be a 10 to 12 days stint with Abhani and it would be a good experience for me,'' Misbah said.
Misbah said he will try to score heavily to get his place back in the national side.
''My eventual aim still remains to get back into the national team and the only way I can do this is to score runs consistently wherever I play,'' he told reporters.
The PCB further stressed that it is an exceptional decision as generally the board does not allow any top player accept a foreign contract in the middle of the premier domestic competition.
''We have made an exception as Misbah has already appeared in four rounds of Quaid Trophy and when he returns he will be able to play in two more matches,'' an official said.
