Court reserves order on body warrant to serial killer
Mangalore, Nov 4 : The Puttur court today reserved its order till November 16 on a application moved by Puttur police seeking body warrant of serial killer Mohan Kumar. alias Anand Mogera in connection with the murder of Sharada (24), a resident of Peramugaru in Kedila village in Puttur in Daxina Kannada.
Mohan Kumar who had been remanded to judicial custody till November 13, had been lodged in a separate cell in the sub jail here under special police care on the direction by the court.
Anticipating possible assault by the inmates of the jail or possible attempt to commit suicide, the police have kept him in the cell very near to their vicinity.
In another development, Mohan Kumar who was primary school teacher had been dismissed from the service with immediate effect on November 2 by the Deputy Director of District Education Office here.
The dismissal order had been based on the inquiry held on his absence from his duty from August 24, 2002 to August 1, 2005 and from August 3, 2005 till date. When the order was issued Mohan Kumar was working as teacher in Badakotu government higher primary school in Bantwal taluk in Daxina Kannada. while during the service as teacher, the serial killer had been transferred to various school in the district following absence from duty without intimations.
The department had also initiated inquiry against Mohan Kumar had also issued show cause notices twice. when no reply was received from him, the department issued removal order on November 3.
