Mumbai, Nov 02 : Global gaming entity, Sony Playstation today announced the launch of a host of games designed for the Indian market.

The games - 'Desi Adda-Games of India'- indigenously developed by Gameshastra Solutions, has been designed for Playstation's 'PS2' and 'PSP' consols and playable in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Tamil.

The desi game pack includes six traditional games - 'Pachisi', 'Aadu Puli Atam (Goat and the Tiger)', Kite Flight, 'Kabaddi', 'Gilli Danda' and a 'Dance' game. The game also uses a storyline with a hero - 'Avinash', an NRI who on returning to his ancestral village takes on the local villians in the various games and also plays cupid to the village's love birds.

The games, priced at Rs 499 for PS2 and Rs 999 for PSP will be aimed at both the metros and tier II markets, Sony Playstation Country Manager Atindriya Bose said.

'The game was initialized in January 2008 and has taken an average of 30 people over a period of 12 months to develop and test the games,' Gameshastra chief executive officer Prakash Ahuja said.
