CPI does not want PDP's support: Chandrappan
Kannur, Oct 31 : Reiterating that the Communist Party of India (CPI) did not want the support of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) of Maudani in the ensuing by-election for Alappuzha Assembly Constituency, party leader C K Chandrappan today said PDP's policies were quite different from those of the Left Parties.
On PDP's decision to support other CPI(M) candidates in Kannur and Ernakulam bypolls, he said, ''a decision in this regard would be taken by the district leadership of the CPI(M). There was no difference of opinion between his party and the CPI(M).'' The Left Parties would unitedly face the by-elections, scheduled to be held on November 7, he said and claimed that LDF would win all the three seats because of the various welfare measures taken up by the government.
