NABARD sanctions Rupees 214 crore for rural roads project in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Oct 29 : The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rupees 214.47 crore to Gujarat for implementation of a project, whereunder 20 major district rural roads in 19 districts of the state will be improved.

The project will provide double line connectivity to major roads as part of the overall vision of the state government to improve the rural infrastructure.

These roads connect major agricultural marketing centres like Unjha, Kalol, Bechraji, Dharampur and Jhalod with villages producing important agricultural commodities.

With this, the cumulative sanction of loan to Gujarat government by NABARD under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund I to XV has gone upto Rs 7,739.94 crore involving 37,147 projects. The state government had utilised an amount of over Rs 5,516.37 crore so far.
