JNTUK to introduce new environmental engineering course

Kakinada,Oct 21: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUK) Vice Chancellor Allam Apparao today said the university would introduce M.Tech programme in environmental engineering and management from this academic year.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said the local industry had already sponsored 25 candidates for the new course, which was of great importance in the present scenario of increasing pollution, posing an environmental problem.

The JNTUK would also introduce a new PG programme in Occupational Health next year, he added.

He said the university would also jointly work with the Pollution Control Board to create awareness among the people on the need for clean environment.

''The JNTUK is also monitoring the Godavari river waters to provide necessary technical advise to the Pollution Control Board on cleansing the waters and making it potable, he said.
