Gujarat bags four CSI-Nihilent e-governance awards

Ahmedabad, Oct 16 : Gujarat has won four major CSI-Nihilent e-goverance awards for 2008-09 for contributions in the field of e-governance.

The awards have been instituted by the Computer Society of India and sponsored by Nihilent Technologies Limited.

The winners were Finance Department for award of excellence, Junagadh district for special recognition in district category, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Judiciary for project category and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for special recognition in information security management system. They were awarded in a function held at Pune on October 9.

The awards are given for recognising the efforts made in e-governance area at the state, department, district and project level.

The judging process was exhaustive to cover the understanding at various stages of nominations and the selection committee members have been drawn from all the stake holders covering government, industry and academics.
