Quality check for milk at Kerala check posts

Thiruvananthapuram, September 14: Dairy Development Department has strengthen quality checking of milk during Onam season.

Temporary labs are opened at the check posts at Walayar, Meenakshipuram, Kumaly, Ariyankavu and Parassala for testing milk entering from other states.

More than 500 samples were collected from 167 tankers and 294 other vehicles for quality test.

District information centers in Kerala had collected more than 750 samples from local markets.

Minor quality problems found in 144 samples. But no harmful chemicals were included in the milk.

To meet the demand of large quantity of Milk during Onam season, Kerala procures it from other states.
