Kannur, Mar 21 : Payyanur JFCM today heard the plea filed by Special Investigation Team (SIT) seeking additional ten days police custody of imposter Bitty Mohanty, who was arrested in connection with a rape case, for interrogation and taking him to Odisha and Andhra and for DNA test.

The order would be delivered tomorrow. Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Vinod appeared for Prosecution and Adv Nicholos Joseph for Bitty Mohanty. The Magistrate M Smitha posted pronouncement of the order to tomorrow.

Yesterday, the same court had remanded Bitty, convicted for raping a German National in 2006 in Rajasthan and later jumping parole, to 14 days judicial custody and sent him to the special sub jail, at the end of the ten day police custody of SIT.

The court had said the SIT plea for seeking extension of ten day police custody would be considered today. But in the evening it adjourned it to tomorrow.

The Rajasthan police could not approach the court with a fresh warrant today. However, Karunagapally police reached Payyanur court today. But they could not file any plea before the court.

Bitty also lived in Arithaanadha Mayi mutt at Vallikavu in Kollam under Karunagapalli police limits as a teacher in their institution. He was also working as probationary officer with the State Bank of Travancore (SBT) under the name Raghav Rajan when he was, atlast, nabbed on March 9.
