Delhi Police cop was shot by friend
New Delhi, Feb 7 : A 23-year-old Delhi Police constable was shot and assaulted by his childhood friend after an argument over a petty issue, police said Thursday
Harkesh, posted as a constable at Delhi's Shalimar Bagh police station, was shot at by his friend at a restaurant in south Delhi's Baba Haridas Nagar area where they had gone for a dinner Wednesday night.
"The accused first hit the victim with a blunt object on his head and later shot a bullet in his leg," Additional Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar Ojha told IANS.
Before the victim could make a call to his colleagues, the attacker fled in a Santro car.
Harkesh was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.
A case regarding the incident has been registered against the accused, whose name was not revealed by Ojha.
The officer said that a hunt is on to nab the alleged attacker.
Both the cop and his friend live in Najafgarh's Gopal Nagar area.
