Noted filmmaker Sai Paranjpe has said she would soon be producing a Marathi Film in the city.
She was speaking after inaugurating the eight-day International Film festival, jointly organized by District Administration, Kalamahrshi Baburao Painter film society, Rajarshree Shahu Chhatrapati Memorial Trust and Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal, at Dadasaheb Fhalke Chitrapat Sankul in Rajarshree Chhatrapati Shahu Smarak Bhavan last night.
Ms Paranjpe said she had produced and directed several Hindi and Marathi films but had not produced a film in Kolhapur. In future, she would produce a film in the city.
At the function, Vishnu Surya Wagh, Mla and President of Goa Akadami, gave away Kalamahrshi Baburao Painter and Anandrao Painter awards to Ms Paranjpe and P K Nayar, a film collector.
About 25 International films from Egypt, France, Italy, Hungary and Taiwan will be shown at the festival, Subhas Borkar, Deputy District Collector and Deelip Bapat, working President of Organizing Committee, were mong those present at the function.
