J and K youth to get thermal power plant training
Udaan, a central industry initiative for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to train them in thermal power plant engineering, was launched Tuesday by Power Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Under the programme, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) would select and train youth from the state every year for five years. It will be a 36-week training programme, which will include trainee visits to four power plants at Rihand, Singrauli, Vindhyachal and Talcher.
After the training, trainees will get a certificate of having qualified as operation and maintenance professionals of the power sector.
NTPC is the first state-run unit to launch the programme.
