The newly-elected Lok Sabha member from Mysore-Kodagu Pratap Simha today said he would focus more on reviving Tourism, Small Scale Industries and enhancing connectivity to Mysore.

'The government has announced that the Bangalore-Mysore highway will be converted to a six-lane road and while I will try to expedite the process, there is also an imperative of finding and developing an alternative highway to enhance connectivity between the two cities,' he added.

Thanking the voters for electing him, he said that apart from the party workers and leaders, NaMo Brigade had also played a vital role in his victory.

'All these days it was election politics, now my focus will be on development. I will work for the development of Mysore-Kodagu and especially in Hunsur, Periyapatna and Chamundeshwari constituencies, where lot of work needs to be done,' he added.

Mr Simha said that he would take Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and MLAs and the state government into confidence to carry out development works.

Asked whether caste factor helped him emerge victorious, he said he had received support from various corners of society irrespective of cast.

'People have voted for Narendra Modi to provide a strong leadership in the country,' he said.
