Triangular contest in the offing at Agra
The taj city of Agra, the attraction of foreign and domestic tourists, is striving for basic amenities like water, despite shuffling the Members of Parliament over the last 15 years, frequently.
The basic problems of drinking water, roads and cleanliness continue to haunt the residents of Agra, wondering who will bring development in the city of Taj Mahal, the world famous monument.
Agra, which has become a reserved seat, is still struggling to present a cleaner and organised picture of its existence and that is why the road to Lok Sabha for its present MP Ram Shankar Katheria is not that smooth, despite the odds being in favour of BJP.
BJP is locked in triangular electoral contest with Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party in Agra Parliamentary constituency going to polls on April 24.
SP has fielded Maharaj Singh Ghangar, while BSP has pitched in Narayan Singh Suman.
In the last 15 elections, Congress has won from here six times, SP thrice, BJP twice and Janata Party, Janata Dal, BSP and independent once each.
