OMC Mining case: CBI files supplementary charge sheet against Sabita
The CBI today filed supplementary charge sheet against former Andhra Pradesh home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and former IAS officer and secretary of mines, B Kripanandam in the alleged Obulapuram iron ore mining scam of former Karnatka BJP leader Gali Janardhana Reddy owned by Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), who is languishing in Chanchalaguda jail since September 2011.
In the charge sheet filed in a Speical CBI court here, the investigating agency showed Kripanandam as A-8 while Sabitha was named A-9 in the mining case.
Both were charged with offences of criminal conspiracy under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act by the CBI in the chargesheet filed in a special CBI court here.
This will be a major blow to Ms Sabita, who has been denied a ticket by Telangana Congress in the ensuing general elections and her three times winning seat of Maharajahs in RR district has been allocated to a another Reddy and her son Karthik has been given the Chevella Parliament seat . According to CBI sources, she may be arrested soon .
The former congress minister was made a witness in
previous charge-sheets in the mining scam involving Kadapa MP and YSRC president YS Jaganmohan Reddy but now has been made an accused in the latest charge sheet filed in the CBI court today.
