People in Kashmir stage demonstration against Pakistan
Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Terrorism Front (JKATF) staged a demonstration against Pakistan and its Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) in a village along the border of India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
JKATF Chairman, Surinder Singh, along with activists and villagers shouted slogans against Pakistan and burned its national flag as a mark of protest against militancy in Bobiya village in Kathua.
Singh claimed the illegal infiltration of militants to Kashmir from Pakistan has resulted in the death of innocent civilians through repeated strikes. The militants have attacked at Kathua district twice in the last six months.
"Pakistan sends ISI trained militants to India every other day and attacks here, the people of the country can't tolerate Pakistan's attack anymore," said Singh.
One person was killed and three others injured after militants attacked a vehicle in India's Kashmir on Friday.
Unidentified gunmen stopped a vehicle on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway and opened fire on the passengers in Dayalachak area of Kathua district. All three militants were killed following an encounter with the police later.
Singh also appealed to the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government and state government of Jammu and Kashmir to shove off all relations with the neighbouring country and demanded a compensation of rupees 10 million to the kin of the deceased killed in attacks.
He added that all intelligence agencies of the country have failed to perform their duties.
