Jennifer Lopez reveals her triathlon goal
Los Angeles, Aug 19 (DPA) Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez is looking to add the title
of athlete behind her name.
The mother of a set of infant twins revealed Monday that she plans to complete the
Malibu triathlon next month, just six months after giving birth.
Lopez told Good Morning America that a triple goal motivated her to take on the
challenge: raising money for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, losing weight and
make her children proud.
"It came up when I was eight months pregnant, when I was beached like a whale," she
said. "I was watching TV, and I saw a triathlon, and I said, 'I think I could do that.'
... Maybe we could raise some money and do something really great."
Lopez said that she trains on a treadmill and stationary bike for about 90 minutes a
day, while her pop star husband Marc Anthony looks after the kids. The couple have been
taking care of the kids by themselves so far but are now looking for a nanny as Lopez
plans to return to work.
Lopez acknowledged that the race will be difficult but had no doubt that she would
complete it.
"If I have to crawl across that finish line, then I will crawl across that finish
line," she joked. "It's for the kids."
