Implementing multi-pronged measures to curb air pollution from paddy stubble burning: Govt
New Delhi, December 5: The Union Government has taken multiple measures to curb air pollution caused by paddy stubble burning in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other parts of North India, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh, informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
Paddy straw can be converted into biogas & bioethanol worth Rs 1,600 crore
New Delhi, Nov 23: The 7.3 million tonnes of paddy straw, which is currently being burnt by farmers, can be converted into compressed biogas and bioethanol which could save Rs 1, 600 crore forex on energy imports and cut pollution as well, according to a statement issued by the Indian Biogas Association (IBA) on Sunday.
Punjab signs pact to produce green hydrogen from paddy straw
Chandigarh, Oct 7: Marking a significant leap towards transforming green energy and agricultural landscape, the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, to establish a pilot demonstration project for the production of green hydrogen from biomass, particularly paddy straw.
Punjab: Paddy straw-based boilers to get subsidy
Chandigarh, May 15: In a major initiative, the Punjab government on Thursday said it has amended the Industrial and Business Development Policy of 2022 to introduce a capital subsidy scheme for the installation of paddy straw-based boilers.
