Govt reaffirms commitment to creative freedom, enforces OTT oversight via IT Rules 2021
New Delhi, August 6: The Central Government on Wednesday reiterated its commitment to safeguarding creative freedom while underlining the regulatory framework for Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, enforced through the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

New Delhi, July 30: The government has so far blocked 43 over-the-top (OTT) platforms in order to curb the spread of explicit, adult, violent or culturally insensitive content and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, the Parliament was informed on Wednesday.
