New Delhi, Oct 2: Farmers across Haryana on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s decision to increase the minimum support prices (MSP) of rabi crops, calling it a “Diwali bumper gift” from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who they said has consistently taken steps in the interest of the farming community.

Cabinet approves hike in MSP for rabi crops

New Delhi, Oct 1: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the increase in the minimum support prices (MSP) for all mandated rabi crops for the 2026-27 marketing season to ensure remunerative prices to the growers for their produce.

Total area sown under kharif crops in India crosses 1,039.8 lakh hectares

New Delhi, Aug 18: The total area sown under kharif crops in the current season has increased by 37.39 lakh hectares to 1,039.81 lakh hectares, as on August 15 this year, compared with the corresponding figure of 1,002.41 lakh hectares in the same period last year, data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on Monday showed.
