Karnataka: Worms found in rice, parents outraged by staff negligence

Koppal, December 15: A video showing worms in children's lunch at the Old Ningapura Government School in Koppal Taluk is going viral. School authorities state that rice is distributed by Akshara Dasoha and most likely stored for a long time. Parents and students expressed concerns over the health and hygiene of mid-day meals.

Bhopal, Dec 8: Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari alleged gross irregularities in the school and education department and Mid-Day Meal Scheme in Madhya Pradesh and demanded a high-level enquiry in the matter. He stated that while the number of children in government and private schools decreased in the past eight years in the state, the education budget increased nearly five times and wondered where that money was spent by the government.

Children served meal defiled by stray dog, Chhattisgarh HC orders Rs 25,000 compensation each

Raipur, Aug 20: In a stern rebuke to administrative negligence, the Chhattisgarh High Court has directed the state government to pay Rs 25,000 compensation each to 84 children of Government Pre-Secondary School in Lachhanpur village, Palari block, who were served food contaminated by a stray dog and later administered anti-rabies injections without parental consent or departmental disclosure.
