Final preparations underway at Nathula for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Nathula Pass, May 18: The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is all set to resume through Nathula from June this year, marking the end of a five-year suspension caused by the Doklam standoff in 2017 and the COVID-19 pandemic, for which the route through the Indo-China border in Sikkim is undergoing final preparations, with infrastructure development nearing completion.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to begin on June 30 after three-year hiatus

Uttarakhand, April 21: The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is set to resume on June 30, 2025, after being suspended for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pilgrimage will follow the traditional route via Lipulekh Pass in Pithoragarh and will be jointly organised by the Uttarakhand Government and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

India and China review situation along LAC, early resumption of Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra

Beijing, March 25: India and China on Tuesday comprehensively reviewed the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the India-China border areas and early resumption of cross-border cooperation - including on trans-border rivers and Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra - during the 33rd meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) held in Beijing.

New Delhi, January 27: The visit of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to China from January 26 to 27 saw several notable developments take place in the India-China ties, with the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from this summer and an agreement to hold an early meeting of the India-China Expert Level Mechanism to discuss cooperation on trans-border rivers. The two countries decided to resume direct air connectivity, with these leading developments coming ahead of 2025 being the 75th year of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and China. The Foreign Secretary also called upon the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Monday.
