Accommodation challenge persists, road closure issue resolved for swimmers at Uttarakhand National Games

New Delhi, Jan 27: Swimmers, who are reaching Uttarakhand to compete in the 38th National Games on Monday, could face significant issues concerning accommodation arrangements. Athletes will reportedly be provided accommodation at Jim Corbett Park, which is 1.5 to 2 hours away from the swimming venue in Haldwani. At the same time, the officials will be put up in Nainital, about 1.5 hours away in the opposite direction creating a logistical challenge for the swimmers at the Games.

Waikar has been playing Kho Kho for 24 years, starting at the young age of eight. He began representing the Maharashtra team in 2003 and has since become one of the most prominent figures in the game.

IOA treasurer raises concern over pending games allotment fee for 38th National Games

New Delhi, Jan 8: Treasurer of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Sahdev Yadav has raised concerns regarding the Games Allotment Fee for the upcoming 38th National Games, set to be hosted by Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, saying the host state has not fully paid the agreed amount of Rs 5 crore, which was decided during the AGM in 2023.
