Living in a hill station, I know how devastating these forest fires can be. The DFO's swift action is commendable, but the real issue is climate change and dry conditions making these fires more frequent. We talk about development but forget our forests are the lungs of our country. Be safe, Uttarakhand! 🌲🔥

14 hectares is a large area to lose to fire, but glad the fire is heading away from populated regions. It's interesting to see how well-trained Indian forest officials are in handling these emergencies. Hope the local community gets support in the aftermath.

Every year, same story - forests burn, air gets bad, and we just react. Why can't we take preventive steps like creating fire lines before summer? The DFO team did well to extinguish it fast, but proactive measures would save more trees and wildlife. Still, appreciate the quick response from all departments. 👏

Just returned from a trip to Tehri, the forests there are so beautiful and dense. It's heartbreaking to see this happen. Sending prayers for the forest team who are risking their lives to save our green cover. Also, important to remember that human activity like unattended campfires or cigarette butts can spark these. Let's be responsible citizens! 🙏🌿

The DFO's confidence that it will be contained in 90 minutes is reassuring, but 14 hectares is still significant. I hope there's an investigation into the cause - is it man-made or natural? Either way, grateful for the quick action and hope the local people and wildlife are safe. Update us when it's fully under control!
